Cubi smeraldo a gradini si arrampicano l'uno sull'altro sul fronte di questo esemplare del Madagascar, più verdi verso il cuore e più chiari lungo i bordi sottili, dove la luce riesce a passare. Le facce sono piane ma non vetrose, con una lieve fioritura satinata stesa sul verde, e ombre minerali più scure vagano dentro i cristalli maggiori. Dietro il gruppo la matrice si interrompe netta, bianco crema.
Un impilamento di cubo su cubo di questo tipo avviene quando la crescita riparte su una faccia cristallina già esistente: ogni nuovo cubo nuclea leggermente disassato rispetto al precedente, e il profilo a scala lungo la sommità del gruppo ne è la testimonianza. La fluorite è CaF2, durezza 4, con una sfaldatura tanto marcata che le scheggiature sugli spigoli si producono con facilità e, una volta fatte, si notano: un pezzo da collocare con cura e poi lasciar stare.
