Quindici centimetri di fluorite verde schiuma di mare, sagomati in una colonna a sei lati e portati a una lucidatura a specchio. Tenuto controluce, il fusto si fa quasi acquoso: menta pallido in punta, che si raffredda in un verde mare più profondo verso il piede, con veli bianchi simili a nubi che ne percorrono l'interno lungo antichi piani di sfaldatura e di frattura. L'apice è una piramide netta, sei facce triangolari che si incontrano in un solo punto.
La fluorite sta a 4 sulla scala di Mohs e si separa lungo quattro sfaldature ottaedriche perfette, perciò una colonna così lunga è un lavoro di lapidario paziente: il blocco grezzo va orientato finché nessun piano di sfaldatura sbuchi su una faccia finita. La stessa tenerezza detta le regole di cura. La tenga lontana da mensole di pietra e di vetro, la pulisca con un panno asciutto anziché umido e non la metta mai in una vasca a ultrasuoni.
La colonna è alta 15,2 cm su una base di appoggio di 3,6 × 3,3 cm e pesa 370 g. Viene spedita con il supporto in metallo nero qui visibile, i cui due bracci sostengono il fusto a mezza altezza. La torre delle fotografie è la torre che le arriverà.
