Decine di cubi ametista pallido si accalcano in una cupola bassa sulla sommità di questo gruppo del Guizhou, con gli spigoli addolciti e le facce a gradini, come se ogni cristallo fosse stato costruito con lamine sempre più sottili. Il colore si raccoglie in modo irregolare: qualche cubo è quasi limpido come acqua, altri custodiscono un cuore viola fumo, mentre una crosta di matrice bianca gessosa avvolge il margine inferiore.
La fluorite del Guizhou in questa tonalità lilla morbida e traslucida tende ad arrivare come druse serrate, anziché come i grandi cubi isolati che ci si aspetta dall’Hunan. Nulla qui è stato rifilato o lucidato: l’arrotondamento degli spigoli è una dissoluzione naturale di fase tardiva, ed è esattamente ciò che dona alla superficie il suo scintillio zuccherino sotto una lampada.
Il gruppo pesa 40 g e sta comodamente fra pollice e indice. Viene consegnato montato con pasta adesiva bianca sul blocchetto di acrilico trasparente che vede qui; ogni immagine è stata realizzata a partire da questo singolo gruppo.
