Su questo esemplare
Inner Mongolia iridescent purple fluorite at 64 g; a small cabinet piece that shifts colour with the angle of light.
Fluorite is the classic collector's halide: calcium fluoride that grows as cubes, octahedra and stepped combinations, often with colour zoning that shows best in daylight.
Inner Mongolia's Huanggang and Chifeng districts produce fluorite, calcite, garnet and rhodochrosite in a lustre and clarity that set the modern standard for Chinese carbonates.
Dimensions place it in the small cabinet range, 5 × 3.8 × 3.2 cm (1.97 × 1.50 × 1.26 in) and 64 g (2.3 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
