Dalla sommità di questo piccolo pezzo di Yaogangxian si arrampica una guglia bianca di calcite in piani impilati e svasati, che si assottiglia attraverso una dozzina di ripiani fino a una punta smussata: è l'abito che i collezionisti chiamano calcite a pagoda, e questo ne è un esempio da manuale. Sotto, cubi di fluorite lilla fumé formano il corpo dell'esemplare, con placche bianche e piatte di calcite aperte di lato come petali.
La disposizione a piani nasce da una calcite cresciuta a impulsi: ogni nuovo strato si estende un poco più del precedente prima che l'apporto di carbonato venga meno e cominci quello successivo. La calcite (CaCO3) sta a 3 di Mohs con sfaldatura romboedrica perfetta e reagisce anche agli acidi diluiti; la fluorite (CaF2) sottostante sta a 4 di Mohs. Tenga il pezzo lontano dalle vaschette a ultrasuoni e da qualunque detergente liquido domestico.
Compatto con i suoi 3,8 × 3,0 × 3,3 cm e 30 g, è fissato con mastice sul blocchetto di acrilico trasparente illustrato, che viene spedito insieme al pezzo. Queste inquadrature mostrano l'esemplare stesso, con la guglia intatta.
