Brina, non lucidatura. Ogni faccia di questa piccola fluorite di Yaogangxian è stata corrosa fino a una superficie opaca e finemente striata, così il gruppo si legge come traslucido e non come vetroso: la luce attraversa il corpo ma non restituisce mai un riflesso pulito. I cristalli salgono in strati sfalsati, nel complesso quasi incolori con una lieve sfumatura lilla su uno o due angoli, e un residuo di matrice chiara stringe ancora la base.
Una corrosione di questo tipo appartiene all’ultimo capitolo del giacimento, quando i fluidi si sono fatti aggressivi e hanno cominciato a ridisciogliere la fluorite che essi stessi avevano depositato. Le facce del cubo arretrano in modo irregolare, lasciando cavità a gradini e la fine rigatura parallela visibile qui. I collezionisti cercano proprio i pezzi a superficie disciolta perché sono la testimonianza di quel capovolgimento. La fluorite ha durezza 4 Mohs e sfaldatura ottaedrica perfetta; qui nulla richiede una pulizia che vada oltre un pennello morbido.
Un gruppo compatto da 20 g, appoggiato su un blocchetto di acrilico trasparente per le fotografie. Le immagini mostrano proprio questo esemplare, non un esempio analogo.
