Over dit exemplaar
Xuebaoding, Sichuan, aquamarine with mica at 10 cm and 333 g; a cabinet plate. A tall plate of grey mica books with pale, glassy aquamarine crystals scattered across it.
Glassy hexagonal prisms and a sea-blue tone define the aquamarine variety.
Mica forms pearly hexagonal books that catch the light between the other crystals.
Xuebaoding in Pingwu County is the classic Chinese source of scheelite, aquamarine and cassiterite on muscovite, mined from high-altitude greisen veins.
Dimensions place it in the cabinet range, 5.5 × 5.9 × 10 cm (2.17 × 2.32 × 3.94 in) and 333 g (11.7 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
