Over dit exemplaar
Inner Mongolia purple fluorite with quartz at 68 g; a small cabinet piece with a minimalist two-cube layout.
Fluorite crystallises in the cubic system and is prized for its saturated colour, glassy lustre and the way zoned phantoms appear when the crystals are back-lit.
Rock crystal is judged on termination quality, clarity and how the crystals sit together, and the Chinese localities have raised the bar on all three.
Inner Mongolia's Huanggang and Chifeng districts produce fluorite, calcite, garnet and rhodochrosite in a lustre and clarity that set the modern standard for Chinese carbonates.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 6.2 × 3.8 × 2.9 cm (2.44 × 1.50 × 1.14 in) and 68 g (2.4 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
