Donker paarse gezichten ontmoeten elkaar dicht door het centrum, terwijl een bleke kwarts rand blijft blootgesteld langs de bovenste en buitenste randen. De kristalmaten variëren, waardoor een zacht ongelijk oppervlak ontstaat in plaats van een enkel vlak vlak vlak. Een schuine blik brengt individuele kubieke gezichten tot reflectie en onthult de dunne matrix onder de geconcentreerde band van paarse groei.
