Over dit exemplaar
Eén berijpt fluorietkristal ter grootte van een pruim troont op dit stuk uit Guizhou; de afgeronde, afgeschuinde vorm gloeit in het bleekste lavendelgrijs – een kleur als ochtendnevel, die met het licht verschuift tussen zilver, lila en ijs. Daaronder spreidt zich een volledige sokkel van blokkig roomkleurig dolomiet uit, met een tweede, kleinere fluoriet weggestopt bij de voet.
Guizhou is een van China’s stillere fluorietprovincies, en de zachtgetinte kristallen lijken in niets op de verzadigde paarstinten van Hunan – en juist dat is hun charme. De berijpte vlakken verstrooien het licht in plaats van het te weerkaatsen, waardoor het kristal vanuit elke hoek zelfverlicht oogt, zonder lamp.
Het exemplaar meet ongeveer 12,2 × 9,1 × 4,3 cm en weegt circa 480 g, en staat op de getoonde acrylsokkel. Elke foto is van dit exacte stuk.
