Deze miniatuur uit Chenzhou is opgebouwd uit wazig lavendelblauwe fluorietkubussen; hun getrapte vlakken houden zachte witte wolken vast – en langs de kroon ontspringen waaiers van parelwitte bladkristallen als rijpveren, waardoor het stuk een klein wintertafereel wordt. Het contrast tussen de nevelige kubussen en de scherpe witte bladkristallen is de hele charme.
Fluoriet met zo’n zachte tekening ruilt schittering in voor sfeer: het licht verstrooit zich in de nevel in plaats van erop te flitsen, en het stuk oogt daardoor zachter en sculpturaler dan glashelder materiaal ooit doet.
Het meet 5,6 × 4,1 × 3,6 cm en weegt 105 g. Afkomstig uit de regio Chenzhou, Hunan. De foto’s tonen het exemplaar zelf.
