Over dit exemplaar
Yunnan golden transparent baryte at 4.6 cm and 18 g; a miniature with gem-clear colour.
Baryte (barite) is barium sulfate: heavy for its size, soft, and prone to tabular or bladed crystals with a bright vitreous lustre.
Yunnan is China's most mineralogically diverse province, source of the pyromorphite, azurite and blue aragonite that have become collector favourites.
The piece is miniature in size, 4.6 × 2.5 × 1.5 cm (1.81 × 0.98 × 0.59 in) and 18 g (0.6 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
