Een enkel kwartskristal, licht rokerig en scherp getermineerd, draagt een diagonale band mica over zijn voorvlak: zilverkleurige boeken, gestapeld en uitgewaaierd tot rozetten, olijfgrijs waar ze dikker worden, met plekken lichtbruine klei en één kleine witte kristalknoop ertussen gevangen. Het kwarts is doorschijnend in plaats van waterhelder, met vage sluiers die onder de eindvlakken door drijven.
Kwarts (SiO2) heeft hardheid 7 op de schaal van Mohs, hard genoeg om gewoon hanteren van zich af te schudden, en het breekt langs gebogen schelpvormige breukvlakken in plaats van langs splijtvlakken. De mica is de kwetsbare helft van het duo: zij splijt bij ongeveer hardheid 2 tot 3 in dunne, elastische blaadjes, en een vingernagel over een rozet licht die blaadjes er zo af. Ondersteun het kwarts, laat het zilver met rust, en het contrast blijft behouden.
Het specimen meet 9,4 × 6,4 × 5,3 cm en weegt 395 g. Er is niets aan gezaagd, gesneden of gepolijst — het is een natuurlijk stuk zoals het gevonden werd, en de foto's bij deze aanbieding tonen precies dit exemplaar.
