细长而挺立如烛焰，这件大冶矿的小型标本顶着一片枪尖状的方解石晶叶——淡稻草黄、半透明、略偏离垂直——其下沿着一道灰白色晶簇的脊柱，堆叠着浑圆的方解石瘤状晶体。
湖北大冶产出的方解石形态多样，而细长渐尖的「羽状」晶叶是藏家特别留意的一种，因为它们沿着边缘承接光线，而不是平板地反射光线。 方解石（CaCO3）莫氏硬度 3，具三组以斜角相交的完全解理，因此摔落时是裂成菱面体而非崩角；提取这一件请托着基座，切勿抓住晶叶。 石英也参与其中，形成方解石赖以生长的灰色晶簇脊柱，并使部分晶体的核心变得混浊。
体积小巧，5.8 × 3.0 × 2.3 cm，40 g，以黏土固定在一枚透明压克力方块上，让尖塔保持垂直。 影像仅拍摄这一件标本，含压克力方块。
