这一类放射状的叶片方解石从一个点开始成核，同时向四面八方向外生长，若无任何阻挡，结果便是一颗完全由晶体组成的球。 这一件来自内蒙古包头，而这种晶形至今仍是碳酸盐类中最常见矿物的一种罕见长法。 莫氏硬度 3 加上三组完美解理，意味着叶片尖端极易崩缺——请握住本体，切勿捏住边缘。
