一阶、一错、再一阶：透明的萤石立方体在这丛北京晶簇上角接着角向上攀爬，棱边呈稻草般的淡色，两三枚重叠之处则加深为温暖的蜜金，每一个晶面都亮得足以映光，也清透得足以显出其后的立方体。 数道内部生长面上封存着细微的矿物絮状物与锈色薄膜，整丛晶体坐落在粗糙的铁褐色母岩上，母岩本身还点缀着同样金色的小晶体。
这里没有一处是玻璃般纯净的：数枚立方体的核心留有淡色的生长云雾，不少棱边因晶体彼此嵌生而呈阶状或缺口。 萤石为 CaF2，等轴晶系，莫氏硬度 4，其完全的八面体解理意味着磕碰晶角时剥落的是干净的三角形薄片，而非崩口。 有些萤石在紫外线下会发萤光，有些则不会；这一件值得实测，而非想当然。
整体尺寸 5.8 × 5.6 × 3.5 cm，重 109 g，母岩底面平整，无需支撑便能稳置于层架上。 照片如实拍摄：您所见的晶簇，就是您将收到的晶簇。
