Jiangxi botryoidal fluorite with pyrite at 15 cm and 1090 g; a large cabinet piece with a rare habit. Keep dry.
Fluorite crystallises in the cubic system and is prized for its saturated colour, glassy lustre and the way zoned phantoms appear when the crystals are back-lit.
Pyrite is the most collected metallic mineral, and the best pieces combine sharp form with a lustre that has not dulled; store it dry to keep it that way.
Jiangxi's tungsten mines, Xihuashan and Piaotang among them, are the classic source of wolframite, scheelite, baryte, fluorite and calcite specimens.
The piece is large cabinet in size, 15 × 11 × 5 cm (5.91 × 4.33 × 1.97 in) and 1090 g (38.4 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
