Über diese Stufe
Violett sammelt sich an den Außenkanten dieses einzelnen Yaogangxian-Fluorits und verblasst nach innen: ein weicher lila Kern, darum ein breites Band aus dunklem Pflaumenton, dann eine mattweiße Haut, wo das letzte Wachstum trüb wurde. Die Würfelflächen sind gestuft statt eben, und ein Rest dunkler, eisenschüssiger Matrix hält sich noch an der unteren linken Kante.
Eine solche Zonierung ist das Protokoll einer sich wandelnden Wasserchemie. Fluorit bezieht sein Violett aus Defekten im Kristallgitter und nicht aus einem Pigment, deshalb hält jeder Wachstumsschub einen leicht anderen Ton fest und die Grenzen bleiben messerscharf. Das Mineral ist Calciumfluorid, CaF2, Mohshärte 4, mit vollkommener Spaltbarkeit nach vier Oktaederrichtungen; ein Stoß gegen eine Ecke sprengt eine saubere dreieckige Scherbe ab, statt nur auszusplittern – heben Sie das Stück daher am Sockel an.
Kompakt mit 3,3 × 3,0 × 2,3 cm und 26 g, kommt es auf dem hier gezeigten hellen Steinsockel, der den Kristall leicht zum Betrachter neigt. Was auf den Fotos zu sehen ist, wird auch versandt.
