Über diese Stufe
Inner Mongolia recrystallised fluorite with quartz at 135 g; a cabinet piece with one focal crystal.
Chinese fluorite has become a staple of modern collections for its sharp crystal faces, strong colour and a lustre that reads well from across the room.
Good quartz is about hexagonal prisms with clean terminations and the glassy lustre that lets a cluster catch light from every angle.
Inner Mongolia's Huanggang and Chifeng districts produce fluorite, calcite, garnet and rhodochrosite in a lustre and clarity that set the modern standard for Chinese carbonates.
By size it is cabinet, 8 × 6 × 3.9 cm (3.15 × 2.36 × 1.54 in) and 135 g (4.8 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
Each specimen is individually photographed and catalogued before it is listed.
