Über diese Stufe
Der hohe Kristall hier ist Quarz, nicht Fluorit: ein einzelnes milchig-klares Prisma mit scharf ausgebildetem Kopf, dessen Flächen von einer feinen Drusenkruste überzogen sind, die die Säule eher durchscheinend als glasig erscheinen lässt. Auf der rechten Schulter thront eine kleine, edelsteinklare Fluoritgruppe und leuchtet blassblau mit violettem Herz – zwei Zentimeter geballte Farbe gegen zehn Zentimeter Reifweiß.
Die Wachstumsfolge lässt sich auf einen Blick lesen. Das Quarzprisma vollendete zuerst seine Flächen; ein späterer Schub fluorithaltiger Lösung setzte dann diese kleine Kristallgruppe auf eine bereits fertige Schulter – deshalb sitzt der Fluorit auf dem Quarz und nicht in ihm. Quarz (SiO2) steht bei Mohs 7 und verzeiht einiges; der Fluorit ist CaF2 mit Mohs 4 und vollkommener oktaedrischer Spaltbarkeit und damit der schützenswerte Teil.
