Über diese Stufe
Tief angeätzter Fluorit im blassesten Rosa-Flieder steigt in überlappenden Schindeln über diese kleine Platte aus Hubei, jede Kristallfläche zu einem Gitter aus Graten und Mulden zurückgebissen. Einige Spitzen halten ein tieferes Violett; die meisten verblassen dort ins Milchweiß, wo die Ätzung am weitesten gegangen ist, und die cremebraune Matrix scheint in ockerfarbenen Partien durch.
Die Textur ist hier der Punkt. Späte Lösungen im Gang machten sich an den Fluorit, nachdem er ausgewachsen war, lösten entlang der Würfelkanten und hinterließen ein skelettartiges Relief, das Licht ganz anders streut als eine flache, glasige Fläche. Fluorit hat nur Mohshärte 4 und spaltet vollkommen in vier Richtungen, ein geätztes Stück wie dieses ist also strukturell empfindlich: an der Matrix anheben, aus direkter Sonne halten und mit weichem Pinsel statt mit Wasser entstauben.
Die Stufe misst 4,1 × 3,6 × 2,8 cm und wiegt 35 g. Sie kommt auf dem weißen Knetmasse-Polster und dem klaren Acrylblock der Abbildungen, die diese Stufe und keine andere festhalten.
