Über diese Stufe
Zhejiang purple-edged green octahedral fluorite at 12.8 cm and 483 g; a large cabinet plate with two-tone colour.
Chinese fluorite has become a staple of modern collections for its sharp crystal faces, strong colour and a lustre that reads well from across the room.
Zhejiang's Jiangshan and Qingtian districts are known for babingtonite, prehnite, fluorite and quartz from volcanic-hosted veins.
Dimensions place it in the large cabinet range, 12.8 × 9.5 × 3.3 cm (5.04 × 3.74 × 1.30 in) and 483 g (17.0 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
