Über diese Stufe
Wo der Calcit endet, zeigt der Fluorit seine Farbe: blasses Flieder durch den Körper jedes Würfels, das sich in Bändern entlang der Flächen zu Violett vertieft und an den Ecken noch einmal nachdunkelt. Drei große Würfel treten an der Vorderseite versetzt hintereinander hervor, ihre Kanten fein geriffelt statt messerscharf, und eine Gruppe kleiner weißer Calcit-Rhomboeder, gemischt mit klaren, blättrigen Kristallen, füllt die Kerbe zwischen ihnen über einer dunkelgrünen Matrix.
Eine solche Zonierung ist ein Wachstumstagebuch. Fluorit nimmt Spuren Seltener Erden und Gitterfehler ungleichmäßig auf, während sich die zuführende Lösung ändert; so hält jedes violette Band einen Wechsel in Chemie oder Temperatur fest, während die helleren Zonen dazwischen ruhigeres Wachstum markieren. Yaogangxian in Hunan liefert dieses weiche Flieder-Violett aus seinen Zinn- und Wolframgängen, wobei der Calcit spät in die Kluft kommt, so wie hier.
