Ein bernsteinoranger Scheelit ruht in seinem Nest cremefarbener Muskovit-Blätter wie ein Dotter in Baiser – die oktaedrische Form des Kristalls ist durch natürliche Anätzung zu nassglänzendem Schimmer weichgezeichnet, die Farbe vertieft sich zum Kern hin zu gebranntem Honig. Der Glimmer umfasst ihn von drei Seiten und rahmt ihn, ohne ihn zu verdecken.
Orange ist die Farbe, derentwegen Scheelit aus Xuebaoding gesucht wird, und Kristalle, die noch im unversehrten Muskovit sitzen – statt herausgelöst zu sein –, tragen die typische Präsentation dieser Fundstelle. Unter kurzwelligem UV-Licht antwortet der Scheelit mit blauweißer Fluoreszenz, während der Glimmer dunkel bleibt.
