Über diese Stufe
Ein breiter Kristall leistet an diesem Fluorit aus Hunan nahezu die ganze Arbeit. Die Frontfläche ist eine einzige ebene Fläche von der Breite zweier Finger, matt statt spiegelblank, und nur entlang der rechten Kante bricht das Wachstum in eine Treppe kleinerer paralleler Würfel auf. Farbe ist kaum vorhanden – Eisweiß, das an den Kanten in zartestes Grün übergeht, dazu ein sanftes blaugraues Phantom tief im Körper des Steins.
Dieses blasse blaue Innere ist ein Phantom – der frühere, kleinere Kristall, um den herum dieser gewachsen ist, noch sichtbar, weil sich die beiden Wachstumsstadien leicht in der Farbe unterscheiden. Nahezu farbloses Material dieser Art lohnt Durchlicht: Eine Lampe hinter dem Stein holt das Phantom nach vorn. Fluorit hat Mohs 4 und spaltet glatt nach dem Oktaeder – in einer Schublade herumgeschoben zu werden, bekommt ihm daher nicht.
