Über diese Stufe
Olivgrüner Epidot sitzt in diesem Quarzfächer wie Moos unter Eis gefangen: kleine prismatische Kristalle, zwischen die Spitzen entlang der linken Flanke geklemmt, während sich warme ockerfarbene Eisenfärbung tiefer innen sammelt, einige Endflächen trübt und andere wasserklar lässt.
Gartenquarz – im Handel Lodolith genannt – ist gewöhnlicher Quarz, der gemeinsam mit allem wuchs, was die Druse sonst noch bot: Chlorit, Ton, Eisenoxide und hier Epidot, ein Calcium-Aluminium-Eisen-Silikat, dessen Pistaziengrün mit nichts anderem zu verwechseln ist. Das Eisen ist der eingeschlossene Teil, sammelt sich in bestimmten Tiefen und wandert beim Drehen des Stücks in den Fokus und wieder heraus, während der Epidot zwischen den Prismen klemmt statt in ihnen zu stecken. Quarz mit Mohshärte 7 lässt sich gut handhaben; die einzige echte Empfindlichkeit liegt an den Nadelspitzen.
5,6 × 3,6 × 1,8 cm und 40 g, mit Knetmasse auf einem klaren Acrylwürfel montiert. Nichts hier ist ein Platzhalter – die Aufnahmen zeigen diese Gruppe auf diesem Würfel.
