L'azzurrite blu reale corre su questo esemplare in croste fini come zucchero che rimandano bagliori da ogni angolazione e si scuriscono quasi fino al nero nelle pieghe in ombra. Ciuffi fibrosi verdi, malachite o forse crisocolla, crescono lungo i rilievi e dentro una cavità aperta sulla destra, dove una vena di ossido di ferro ocra-camoscio taglia il blu.
Azzurrite e malachite sono entrambe carbonati basici di rame, e il verde è di frequente il successore del blu: l'azzurrite assorbe acqua nel tempo geologico e si converte in malachite, così un pezzo come questo coglie la reazione a metà strada. Entrambe sono tenere, 3,5–4 Mohs, e l'azzurrite sta meglio lontana dal sole diretto prolungato. La località non è stata confermata e la specie verde non è stata analizzata: le riportiamo perciò come questioni aperte, anziché azzardare un'ipotesi.
