Guangdong red-fluorescing calcite with quartz at 32 g; a small cabinet piece for the UV collector.
Calcite is the most shape-shifting of common minerals: over 800 crystal forms have been described, and Chinese localities produce many of the best.
Good quartz is about hexagonal prisms with clean terminations and the glassy lustre that lets a cluster catch light from every angle.
Guangdong is the source of the red hematoid quartz and green phantom quartz that reached collectors after 2015.
By size it is small cabinet, 5.5 × 3.7 × 2.7 cm (2.17 × 1.46 × 1.06 in) and 32 g (1.1 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
