Dettagli dell’esemplare
Su questo esemplare
A rounded plate carpeted in fibrous, velvet-green malachite needles, with one knot of pale blue azurite-and-aragonite at the centre and brown baryte blades showing at the edges. The green is bright and the texture is soft to the eye.
Moroccan copper-oxidation material with four species on one hand-sized piece; the malachite velvet is fragile, so keep it dust-free with a blower.
At 8.2 × 4.1 × 3.1 cm (3.23 × 1.61 × 1.22 in) and 160 g (5.6 oz) it is a cabinet specimen that makes a strong centrepiece on a shelf or in a display case. Sold exactly as photographed; any known repair, mount, treatment or condition note is disclosed in this listing.
Copper mineral: avoid dust, wash hands after handling. Carbonate: never clean with acid or vinegar.
