Su questo esemplare
Yunxiao, Fujian, clear quartz on feldspar at 70 g; a small cabinet piece with a strong vertical line.
Rock crystal is judged on termination quality, clarity and how the crystals sit together, and the Chinese localities have raised the bar on all three.
Feldspar forms the blocky, pale crystals that act as a stage for the more colourful minerals in a pegmatite pocket.
The pegmatites of Yunxiao County, Fujian, are the source of the orange spessartine-smoky quartz combinations that reached the market after 2010.
By size it is small cabinet, 6.2 × 5.4 × 4.7 cm (2.44 × 2.13 × 1.85 in) and 70 g (2.5 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.
Every specimen here is photographed and catalogued individually before listing.
