Cristalli di scheelite oro ambrato si impilano per tutta la lunghezza di questo pezzo di Xuebaoding: tre in una colonna inclinata sulla sinistra e un quarto stipato sulla destra, ciascuno con il profilo smussato e pseudo-ottaedrico per cui la località è nota, le facce accese di miele là dove la luce le attraversa. Infilate tra loro e sopra di loro stanno rosette di muscovite in un oro oliva più tenue, che si aprono nei libriccini cartacei e arricciati che la mica forma sempre, con qualche scaglia più brillante che cattura la luce verso il centro.
La scheelite è tungstato di calcio, CaWO4, e uno dei principali minerali di tungsteno. È tenera rispetto al proprio peso, con durezza Mohs da 4,5 a 5, e risulta sensibilmente densa in mano; sotto ultravioletto a onda corta risponde con un bagliore bianco-azzurro, la prova sul campo classica per questa specie. Xuebaoding, nella contea di Pingwu, in Sichuan, è la fonte che ha reso questo abito cristallino familiare ai collezionisti fuori dalla Cina.
Circa 2,8 × 2,5 cm sulla faccia e 50 g di peso, montata in verticale su mastice esattamente come illustrato. Le immagini documentano proprio questo gruppo di cristalli.
