Un unico cubo di fluorite limpida come vetro, con appena un accenno di azzurro ghiaccio e spigoli a gradini come cristallo molato, si tiene in equilibrio su una rosetta di lamine di muscovite verde oliva e argento provenienti da Xuebaoding, Sichuan. Cristalli di fluorite più piccoli si raccolgono alla base della mica e completano un’ordinata composizione in miniatura.
La fluorite incolore di Xuebaoding vive all’ombra della celebre scheelite e dell’acquamarina della località, il che mantiene accessibili pezzi come questo; ma la trasparenza raggiunta qui eguaglia materiale ben più costoso, e il piedistallo di mica lo espone come se fosse stato disposto a mano.
