この標本について
金色のルチルの針をぎっしり抱えた両錐の水晶が、このヒマラヤ産の母岩プレートの頂に立っています。内部は金属質の糸、緑泥石の雲、鉄分に染まった斑——それらが宙に留まったままの嵐のようです。その下では、水のように透明なものや内包物で煙るものなど、表情の異なる小ぶりの柱状結晶が、黄土色の母岩からさまざまな角度で顔を出しています。
内包物入りの水晶は、それだけでひとつの研究分野です。ここにある結晶はどれも、成長をともにした流体と鉱物を閉じ込めた、密閉されたテラリウムのようなものです。主結晶はルーペで覗くほどに見どころがあり、緑の緑泥石を背にルチルが金色の束となって走ります。
ヒマラヤ地域産（詳しい鉱山は未確認のため、入手時のままの状態でお届けします）。プレートの寸法は 9.3 × 6.9 × 6.6 cm、重量は 220 g。写真は現品です。
