Bosgroen epidoot koloniseert deze Turkse kwartsgroep zoals mos een zwerfkei – fijne, fonkelende druse die over de glasachtige kristallen kruipt, zich ophoopt in de holten en uitdunt tot een waas op de vrijliggende punten. Waar het kwarts doorschemert, leest het bleek saliegroen; waar het epidoot heerst, bijna zwartgroen.
De texturen van beide mineralen maken het stuk: kwarts als nat glas tegenover mat, korrelig epidoot, met een kluwen heldere terminaties in het midden die de compositie levendig houdt. Een ander beeld dan de gebruikelijke epidootvindplaatsen geven, en een sterk donkergroen accent voor elke vitrine.
Het meet 8,9 × 5,6 × 6,4 cm en weegt 280 g. Gefotografeerd is precies dit stuk.
