Over dit exemplaar
Yaogangxian quartz with purple fluorite at 77 g; a small cabinet piece with the fluorite as a decoration on the quartz. A single clear quartz crystal with a chain of small purple fluorite cubes running down its front face, the fluorite glassy against the frosted quartz.
Rock crystal is judged on termination quality, clarity and how the crystals sit together, and the Chinese localities have raised the bar on all three.
Few localities carry the weight of Yaogangxian: a Hunan tungsten mine whose fluorite, quartz, arsenopyrite and pyrite specimens sit in every serious collection.
The piece is small cabinet in size, 6 × 4 × 3.3 cm (2.36 × 1.57 × 1.30 in) and 77 g (2.7 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
