Over dit exemplaar
Jinkouhe, Sichuan, baryte floater at 12.8 cm; a display piece that stands on any side.
Baryte (barite) is barium sulfate: heavy for its size, soft, and prone to tabular or bladed crystals with a bright vitreous lustre.
Sichuan's alpine-type veins and skarns yield aquamarine, prehnite, epidote and scheelite of international quality.
By size it is large cabinet, 12.8 × 7.1 × 6.9 cm (5.04 × 2.80 × 2.72 in) and 1057 g (37.3 oz). Otherwise the piece is sold exactly as photographed.
