Het hoogste punt van dit stuk uit de Shangbao-mijn behoort aan één lavendelkleurig fluorietkristal, dat op een fonkelend bed van roomkleurig drusig kwarts rust zoals alleen de beste holtestukken zichzelf lijken te componeren. De kubus is verzacht door berijpte, licht afgeschuinde vlakken; violet verzamelt zich in de diepte en verbleekt naar het oppervlak, zodat het kristal van binnenuit verlicht lijkt in plaats van beschilderd.
Eromheen draagt de kwartsdruse verspreid wit dolomiet en een gedrongen calcietje – precies het mineralengezelschap waarom Shangbao geliefd is. De mijn, in de regio Leiyang in Hunan, dankt haar naam aan deze combinatie: pastelkleurige fluoriet op glinsterend witte matrix, ingetogener dan de verzadigde paarstinten van Yaogangxian en in veler ogen eleganter.
