A cluster of glossy, wine-red garnet crystals with bright faces sits along the top of a pale feldspar plate, with smaller garnets down the left side and clear hyalite opal crusts that glow green under UV. The lustre stands out.
Yunxiao, Fujian, garnet at 19 g with unusually bright crystal faces; the photos show the hyalite under a 365 nm lamp.
