Over dit exemplaar
Yunnan stalactitic calcite at 12 g; a perky-box piece with warm colour.
Calcium carbonate in its rhombohedral form, calcite is soft (Mohs 3) and takes a bright vitreous to pearly lustre on fresh faces.
Yunnan's copper and lead-zinc districts produce the azurite, malachite, pyromorphite, hemimorphite and blue aragonite that define Chinese secondary minerals.
By size it is miniature, 3.3 × 2.5 × 2.5 cm (1.30 × 0.98 × 0.98 in) and 12 g (0.4 oz). The specimen is otherwise sold in the condition shown.
Carbonate: never clean with acid or vinegar.
