Antimonietkristallen hebben een prachtige prismatische vorm, waardoor ze een zeer gewilde aanwinst zijn voor mineralenverzamelaars. Deze glanzende formaties, afkomstig uit de beroemde Lengshuijiang-mijn in Hunan, China, getuigen van het kunstenaarschap van de natuur. Hun opvallende uiterlijk en unieke structuur zullen zowel liefhebbers als deskundigen ongetwijfeld weten te boeien.
Antimoniet (Sb₂S₃) kristalliseert in het orthorhombische stelsel en vormt doorgaans slanke, langgerekte kristallen met een metaalglans die in kleur varieert van zilvergrijs tot loodgrijs. De kenmerkende prismatische kristallen van dit exemplaar vertonen gladde, reflecterende vlakken die de natuurlijke geometrie ervan benadrukken. Met een hardheid van 2 op de schaal van Mohs is Antimoniet relatief zacht, waardoor het zorgvuldig moet worden behandeld om de delicate kristalranden te behouden.
