Een sphalerietglas staat boven een fijn kristallijn grijs-wit kwartsoppervlak. De brede hoekige gezichten vangen warme reflecties, in tegenstelling tot de veel kleinere bleke punten op de omringende matrix. Het steunstuk buigt rond een ondiepe nis en stijgt achter het gekleurde kristal. Een tweede hoek onthult een donkerder rood gezicht en de hoogte van het sphaleriet boven de fijne kwartsbedekking, waardoor het geïsoleerde kristal als het belangrijkste kenmerk.
