一颗薰衣草紫的立方体，像掷到一半被冻结的骰子般以晶角立起，撑起了这件瑶岗仙小型标本。 它通透得可以直接看穿后方的母岩，每一个晶面都扑着一层糖霜般的白色微晶，柔化了光线，棱边却保留着更深的紫。 方块下方的灰色母岩残座上，散布着一群同色的迷你立方体。
这样的色带分区是瑶岗仙的招牌：紫色集中在棱与角上，往中央逐渐淡到近乎清澈透明。 在萤石（CaF2）中，这种紫并非来自任何单一色素，而是晶格缺陷与微量稀土元素置换所致，而且往往精确地描出生长前缘。 萤石偏软——莫氏硬度 4，具完全八面体解理——因此请托住底座取放，切勿捏着立方体。
