那些云雾是包裹体——晶体快速生长时被困在晶格里的流体与细微矿物质——它们正是标本与宝石切磨原石之间的分野：它们记录了生长过程，而非破坏了它。 萤石在莫氏 4 的硬度下具四个方向的完全解理，因此像这样锐利的棱角格外值得保护：只要在硬物上磕一下，就足以失去一角。
