About this specimen

Guizhou purple-edged fluorite at 7 cm and 45 g; a small cabinet plate. A plate of white quartz druse with small transparent fluorite cubes edged in purple scattered across it and an orange patch at the lower right.

Chinese fluorite has become a staple of modern collections for its sharp crystal faces, strong colour and a lustre that reads well from across the room.

Guizhou is the source of the collector creedite and hosts important fluorite, calcite and copper-mineral localities around Qinglong.

The piece is small cabinet in size, 7 × 4.8 × 2 cm (2.76 × 1.89 × 0.79 in) and 45 g (1.6 oz). Condition is otherwise as photographed.

Specimens are photographed and catalogued one at a time before they reach this page.
