Mineral Size Info

Every specimen in the catalog lists its longest dimension in centimetres along with weight in grams. Where it helps, we also note the size class collectors typically use:

• Thumbnail: up to about 2.5 cm in longest dimension.
• Toenail / small miniature: 2.5 cm to 4.5 cm.
• Miniature: 4.5 cm to 8 cm.
• Small cabinet: 8 cm to 12 cm.
• Cabinet: 12 cm to 18 cm.
• Large cabinet: 18 cm and above.

The fully formatted size guide with reference photos is being prepared for the public launch. For now, the measurement listed on each specimen page is what you can rely on when comparing pieces.
