About this specimen
A crust of small quartz points, white with a faint lavender wash, covers most of this Fujian plate. At one end a compact group of pale mint-green fluorite cubes breaks through the druse, faces stepped and corners a little rounded. The contrast is soft rather than loud — celery green against frosted white — and the plate itself is untouched pocket lining, exactly as it came out of the vein.
Fluorite growing directly on a quartz druse records the order of events: silica lined the cavity first, then fluorite-bearing fluids arrived and nucleated on the points already standing there. Collectors like the pairing because the harder quartz (Mohs 7 against fluorite’s 4) gives the softer mineral a protective bed. The fluorite corners are still the exposed part, so a padded box beats a crowded shelf.
The plate measures 3.8 × 2.5 × 1.5 cm and weighs 15 g. The images show this exact plate, putty pad and acrylic block included.
