底下是一层乳白色的板状重晶石，这组对比正是整件标本成立的关键：温暖的浅色叶片托着冷艳明亮的红色晶体。 钒铅矿是一种铅的钒酸盐，化学式为 Pb5(VO43Cl，颜色来自其中的钒。 硬度仅莫氏 2.5–3，晶尖极易折断，请忍住用手指抚过表面的冲动。
