達爾涅戈爾斯克
Primorsky Krai, Russia
位於俄羅斯遠東的達爾涅戈爾斯克是重要的矽卡岩與賤金屬礦區,以出色的方解石、矽硼鈣石與複雜硫化物組合聞名。
Dalnegorsk, in Primorsky Krai in the Russian Far East, ranks among the world's iconic mineral localities — a boron-rich skarn famous above all for the finest datolite and superb calcite.
A boron and lead-zinc skarn
Mining began in the late 19th century for lead and zinc in the limestone mountains, and the deposit is a boron-rich skarn whose principal boron mineral, datolite, was produced on an industrial scale. The Nikolaevskiy mine and the Bor Pit are among its most celebrated workings.
Signature minerals
Dalnegorsk is renowned for the world's best datolite, and for sharply formed calcite — colourless to honey-yellow, often with dramatic phantoms — alongside galena, sphalerite, pyrrhotite, fluorite and ilvaite in remarkably aesthetic groupings.
