先看見的是綠，留住目光的卻是紫：這片內蒙古晶板上，一顆接一顆的立方體都在上緣戴著一道細細的紫羅蘭色滾邊，像是縫在瓶綠色晶面上的織帶。晶體在整個正面堆疊成低矮的階梯狀平台，數以百計，朝著左上方一顆顏色更深的塊體攀升。白色的顆粒狀結殼擠滿了縫隙，而一道近乎全黑的岩脈則在下方一角露出。
這樣的色帶是一份關於流體通道的記錄。螢石，CaF2，的顏色來自微量元素與晶格缺陷，而非任何單一的致色成分，因此生長後期流體的一次改變，就能替綠色晶體掛上一層紫羅蘭色的外皮，而其他一切不變。莫氏硬度 4 與四個方向的完全解理，意味著稜角極易碰損——請托住晶板的底部，絕不要捏住晶體。
7.6 × 2.5 × 5.1 cm、215 g，背面夠平，無需支撐即可直立；不附底座。這些照片拍攝的正是這一片晶板，別無他者。
