兩支乳白色的石英晶尖自一層低矮的小晶體結殼上升起，較高的一支柱面覆霜到近乎不透明，晶尖處卻恰好清透，足以映出一道高光。左側有一組黃鐵礦半埋在石英之中，階梯狀的金屬晶面在一片白色映襯下近乎黑色。底部與一側環繞著一圈細長的次生晶尖。
石英的乳白並非缺陷，而是一份普查紀錄：快速生長時捕獲的無數微小流體與氣體包裹體，在光線穿透之前就將它散射回來。莫氏硬度 7 的 SiO2，是這件標本上唯一可以毫無顧慮拿取的礦物——需要小心的是黃鐵礦，因為硫化物對潮濕空氣的反感遠勝過對手指。保持乾燥，它就能守住金屬般的表面。
晶簇尺寸為 6.6 × 3.6 × 5.3 cm，重 100 g。以手持方式拍攝，不含底座出售；圖中的晶尖與黃鐵礦斑塊，只屬於這一件。
